On Monday, July 28th 2014, there will be a meeting of the Seminole County Board of Adjustment located at 1101 East 1st Street; Room 2201 Sanford Florida at 6:00pm that will profoundly affect your property values and quality of life.
Children’s First, a for-profit corporation that provides care and housing for severely disabled children at homes located at 113 Cedar Oak Trail and 112 Sweetbriar Branch, are petitioning the county to expand their business activities within our community.
Children’s First purchased these properties for commercial purposes in direct opposition of Article 2 of the Deed Restrictions that apply to all properties in our community. The operation of their business has had, and continues to have, an adverse effect on those who live around them. Increased traffic, parking, emergency vehicles, excessive trash and prolonged bus stops in front of these properties stopping traffic while clients are loaded and unloaded several times a day are some of the issues at hand.
Concerned citizens working with your Civic Association have been canvassing our neighborhood with a petition requesting all of our residents to join us in opposition to the expansion of this business within our community. Although petitions are of great value, a showing of public support at the meeting on the 28th will speak louder than our petitions. A large turnout is what we desperately need to demonstrate our passion over this issue.
Call your neighbors, but please plan on attending this meeting!
If you have not been visited by someone with a petition please call me at (407)331-3837 and I will make certain that we get this done.
Sincerely, Bonnie Eckman, President Woodlands Civic Association
